Koko, a female gorilla, lives at a research centre in California. Scientist Francine Patterson taught her to use sing language used by deaf people. One day, Koko met a kitten and became attached to it. When a car ran over the kitten, Koko expressed her sadness by making the sad sing and by staying on her own.
